Casters are the tools used to play activities. They are weapons that come in multiple archetypes, they are bombs, and they are utility items that can grant temporary bonuses.
Casters are the remnant souls of Visions, and if there is a Vision you encounter in an activity, it can be turned into your own Caster either by crafting it, a random loot drop, or completing a Duty with it as a reward.
Casters have a variety of attributes that determine their strengths, weaknesses, and play style, including Damage, Range, Recharge, Generation, Bloom, Velocity, Cooldown, Detonate, and Charges.
A higher Recharge stat will allow Casters to recharge themselves quicker, a higher Generation stat on Basic Casters will fill up the Specialized and Big Charge Pools of those Casters quicker, a higher Bloom stat will increase accuracy, a higher Velocity stat will increase the speed of Caster projectiles, a higher Detonate stat will reduce the time it takes for a Bomb to explode, and higher Charges means how many shots can be cast before a Recharge is required.
Casters have an elemental affinity assigned to them, with Physical (non-elemental) being the most common. Rarer Casters have a chance to have an elemental affinity which will always be the same for a specific Caster and not random. Elemental affinities have a chance to proc a unique elemental effect but are always more effective versus elemental shields of matching types of Visions that may have them.

- Cold

- Plague

- Leech

- Electric

- Acid

- Physical

Totems have no elemental affinity.
Caster Archetypes
- Agile
These Casters typically have low Range and Damage, but do not lose accuracy while you are moving. These Casters are good for close quarters combat.
- Beam
A rapid firing Caster whose shots travel at extremely high rates of speed. The Charge pool on this Caster is typically much larger to accommodate the high cast rate.
- Blade
A close range, high damage Caster with an infinitely sized Charge pool.
- Burst
This Caster has moderate Range and casts in bursts of three projectiles.
- Detonation
A high Velocity Caster whose projectiles explode on impact, damaging nearby Visions.
- Explosive
These Casters cast large, slow-moving projectiles that explode on impact, damaging nearby Visions with splash damage of varying sizes.
- Extended
This Caster has an extremely large Charge Pool and casts at a high rate.
- Precision
A slow casting, moderately damaging Caster with incredible accuracy and above average Range.
- Range
A slow casting, highly damaging Caster with incredible accuracy and high range.
- Spray
This Caster casts three projectiles at once and typically has low to moderate Range.
- Bomb
A Caster that produces a large blast that erases or heavily damages all Visions in a specific radius. Bombs are manually triggered by the player and appear at the player's location at the tap.
- Totem
A Caster that comes equipped with an SFX, which is a boost to power that lasts for a set amount of time and can be triggered manually by the player.
Caster Energy Types
There are three different energy pools that Casters utilize to shoot: Basic, Specialized, and Big.
Casters with Basic energy pools are typically Rapid, Agile, Precision, Burst and Blade. Basic energy pools are unlimited. Basic casters also generate Specialized and Big energy when damaging Visions. Basic energy utilizes a white energy icon.
Casters that utilize Basic energy pools have a “Generation” stat in place of the Velocity stat. A higher Generation stat produces more energy to Specialized and Big energy pools.
Casters with Specialized energy pools are typically Beam, Spray, and Ranged Casters. Specialized energy regenerates quicker than the Big energy pool, and Casters typically deal high damage in single target scenarios. Specialized energy utilizes a greenish blue energy icon.
Casters with Big energy pools are typically Explosive, Extended, and Detonation Casters. Big energy is the more difficult energy pool to fill and its Casters specialize in dealing with large masses of Visions. Big energy utilizes a purple energy icon.
Caster Mastery Levels
Each Caster archetype has its own Mastery System, which as you erase Visions, experience is added to the respective archetype and that Mastery Level and Experience is applied to all present and future Casters you find of that archetype.
Experience for all Casters (except Totems) is rewarded to the archetype of the Caster that deals a final blow. For Totems, they absorb a fraction of all final blows to the Totem archetype.
After meeting experience thresholds, your Mastery Level for archetypes will increase from Mastery Lv. 1 to Mastery Lv. 25, and award different bonuses at each level. Most bonuses will be in the form of stat upgrades for specific stats of all Casters of that archetype. So, if you were to level Agile Casters to Lv. 3, and Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 added +1 Range and +1 Damage, all Agile Casters you own or find in the future will have innate +1 Range and +1 Damage bonuses.
Increasing Mastery Level for each archetype also unlocks the ability to utilize the FX that may be on a Caster, install Implants to increase certain attributes, and to change the type of targeting the Caster should favor when auto-shooting. For example, you could set specific Casters to prioritize targeting the lowest HP Visions, or the fastest Visions, instead of the closest (default).
Mastery Level is specific to the player, so Casters that may be sold on the Bazaar will not have the same stats that might be displayed to a player with higher or lower Mastery Levels. However, if both example players have the same Mastery Level for an archetype, the stats will be identical.
Caster FX and SFX
As you discover Casters, you will find that rarer Casters will have items called FX. Depending on the rarity, they may have none, one, or two. FX are perks that are random when looted or can be set specifically during crafting and if you possess the proper FX Imprint.
To activate the first FX, a Mastery Level of 5 for the Caster archetype is required, and for the second FX a Mastery Level of 10 is required.
FX work like buffs, however they have unique activation conditions which happen automatically. Bombs can also have FX.
SFX are the buffs that are found on Totems that require you to manually apply by tapping the Totem icon when it has met its cooldown and has Charges available.
Casters can be salvaged for a chance to produce an FX Imprint, depending on Crafting Skill. They can also be found in Duty rewards and Daily Bonus Rewards. FX Imprints can only be applied when crafting a brand-new Caster.
